My self esteem
plummeted & I just wanted to crawl into a hole when my business
associate jokingly asked me, “What happened to your neck? Did a
vampire bite you?!”
…….I was too
hurt and embarrassed to explain that it was “adult acne”. Instead I
laughed it off and replied, “Yah, sure, something like that…”
I walked away from that meeting so ashamed of my skin condition and
mortified by people’s reactions.
As a teen I had dealt with acne, been on
tetracycline, special prescription washes, Clearasil, whatever I
could use to treat it. As I entered into adulthood, I still dealt
